Providing support to families of those involved with the Matt Talbot Community Trust is central to our holistic approach to rehabilitation. We recognise the importance of a strong family unit in supporting those in recovery from addiction or reintegrating having spent time in prison.
Family Summer Programme
We invite families enjoy our facility in Ballinascorney, in the Dublin Mountains. While pretty basic, Ballinascorney provides a great opportunity to strengthen community bonds and build lasting relationships with entire families. The programme provides a welcome summer break for families who may not otherwise have another opportunity for a holiday.
We have been inviting the same families and new families year on year for the last 20 years. New generations also join us as the years go by. Some of the children (now young adults) have been joining us for the last 15 years straight, while some now bring their own young children.
We run trips and activities for the children and parents throughout the summer, including: canoeing, hiking, swimming, sport, art and more.
